Traditionally, Indian brides get married in elaborate Indian bridal sarees. The Indian wedding saree can come in different types of design based on the region of India the bride is from. India is diverse in its cultures and traditions. So the wedding customs also differ based on the different places in India.
This diversity is what is apparent in the design of Indian bridal sarees. These Indian bridal sarees comes in different fabrics, styles and colors.
The Indian bridal saree is a large stylish cloth of certain length, usually of 6 yards in length. These sarees are generally worn by women by wrapping it around the body. At the time of wearing designing and styles patterns of sarees are also kept in mind. After wrapping it around the body the remaining portion of wedding saree is put over the shoulder of the bride which is also known as “pallu”. Again based on the region of India, the bride is from the pallu can be draped differently. For instance, Gujarati brides drape the pallu over the back and cover the front of the chest instead of draping it over the shoulders.
Modern Indian wedding sarees can be elaborate with designs making use of pearls, beads or sequins.
